🧭 Trek Cancellation & Refund Policy

Planning a trek is an adventure in itself—full of anticipation and excitement. At Meru Treks, we manage all trek operations in-house, ensuring a seamless experience from sign-up to summit. We understand that sometimes plans change. Whether due to personal emergencies, weather disruptions, or government restrictions, our cancellation policy is designed to be transparent, fair, and trekker-friendly.

🗓️ Cancellation by Trekkers

If you wish to cancel your trek, please notify us in writing via email. Refunds are processed based on the notice period:

🌧️Cancellation by Us (Meru Trek)

If we cancel due to:

  • Natural disasters (snowstorms, landslides, floods)

  • Government orders or permit issues

  • Political unrest or safety concerns

  • Insufficient group size

We offer:

  • 100% trek voucher valid for 1 year

  • Alternate trek of similar value (subject to availability)

  • Optional refund protection via add-on insurance

🔒Cash refunds are not provided for force majeure cancellations unless trek insurance is purchased.

🛡️ Trek Insurance & Protection

We recommend purchasing trek insurance to cover:

  • Medical emergencies and evacuation

  • Trip cancellations or delays

  • Lost or damaged gear

Some treks may require mandatory insurance for altitudes above 4,000 meters.

🚶 Mid-Trek Disruptions

If a trekker leaves mid-way due to personal reasons or health issues:

  • No refund or voucher is issued

  • Emergency evacuation assistance is provided (cost borne by trekker)

If the trek is halted due to weather or route closure:

  • Alternate trek may be offered

  • Voucher issued based on completed trek days

🔁 Repeat Trek Policy

If you’re forced to abandon a trek due to health or safety reasons, you may be eligible to repeat the same trek for free under our “Trek Again” feature. Conditions apply.

🎟️ Trek Voucher Details

A Trek Voucher allows you to reschedule your trek without losing your payment. It’s valid for any Meru Treks trek, tour, or yatra.
