Planning a trek is an adventure in itself—full of anticipation and excitement. At Meru Treks, we manage all trek operations in-house, ensuring a seamless experience from sign-up to summit. We understand that sometimes plans change. Whether due to personal emergencies, weather disruptions, or government restrictions, our cancellation policy is designed to be transparent, fair, and trekker-friendly.
🗓️ Cancellation by Trekkers
If you wish to cancel your trek, please notify us in writing via email. Refunds are processed based on the notice period:
🌧️Cancellation by Us (Meru Trek)
If we cancel due to:

Natural disasters (snowstorms, landslides, floods)

Government orders or permit issues

Political unrest or safety concerns
-
Insufficient group size
We offer:

100% trek voucher valid for 1 year

Alternate trek of similar value (subject to availability)

Optional refund protection via add-on insurance
🔒Cash refunds are not provided for force majeure cancellations unless trek insurance is purchased.
🛡️ Trek Insurance & Protection
We recommend purchasing trek insurance to cover:

Medical emergencies and evacuation

Trip cancellations or delays
-
Lost or damaged gear
Some treks may require mandatory insurance for altitudes above 4,000 meters.
🚶 Mid-Trek Disruptions
If a trekker leaves mid-way due to personal reasons or health issues:

No refund or voucher is issued

Emergency evacuation assistance is provided (cost borne by trekker)
If the trek is halted due to weather or route closure:

Alternate trek may be offered

Voucher issued based on completed trek days
🔁 Repeat Trek Policy
If you’re forced to abandon a trek due to health or safety reasons, you may be eligible to repeat the same trek for free under our “Trek Again” feature. Conditions apply.
🎟️ Trek Voucher Details
A Trek Voucher allows you to reschedule your trek without losing your payment. It’s valid for any Meru Treks trek, tour, or yatra.

🔄 Changing Trek Dates
We understand plans shift. You can request a trek date change at least 15 days before your scheduled trek.
📌 Date Change Fee: 10% of total invoice
Conditions:

New trek date must fall in the same trekking season

Subject to availability and written confirmation

Additional charges apply if the trek cost has increased
If your requested date isn’t available, we’ll issue a voucher for future use.
🚫 Non-Eligibility for Date Change or Vouchers
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate changes or refunds if:

The request is made less than 15 days before trek start

You miss the trek without prior notice
-
The trek is cancelled due to force majeure and you decline alternatives
